AlienNation Co. is an international mixed-media performance ensemble and non-profit arts organization.
Founded by choreographer Johannes Birringer in 1993, it is based in Houston, Texas.
The group experiments with multiple media and creates dance-based theatre works, films and installations.
The website and archive of AlienNation Co. existed for about 30 years (www.aliennationcompany.com) from 1993 – 2023: it is now being restored and rejuvenated. There is an even earlier history of dance-theatre performances, directed by Johannes Birringer, which began after his move to Dallas, and then Houston, in 1985, which will be sketched here.
