Der ehemalige Gartenarbeiter Generico Vespucci ist nach seiner Umschulung Kosmonaut geworden und lebt auf der russischen Raumstation MIRAK. Die Verbindung zur Bodenstation ist abgebrochen, und die MIRAK, ausser Kurs geraten, driftet im Weltall.

Vespucci hat damit begonnen, eine neue Baumart, den Dolphinat, im Weltraum zu pflanzen. Der Goldfisch „migbot“ fliegt im Garten in einem Glasbehälter und leidet an elektronischer Vereinsamung. Die argentinische Dichterin Alfonsina Storni hat eine Gedicht für das Ende der Zeit geschrieben und ist in die Südsee getaucht.

Aus diesen Elementen werden die Performance- und Medienkünstler der AlienNation Co. (Houston) eine interaktive Installation im Garten (Loewensternweg 5) aufbauen, die sich mit parallelen Räumen und Erzählungen beschäftigt.

Das „Skelett“ der Installation (nur abends sichtbar) ist ein Formengewebe von sich ständig verändernden und veränderbaren Bewegungen durch Schnittstellen, die reale und virtuelle, sichtbare und unsichtbare Räume und fliessende Übergänge schichten. Der Fisch ist ein Symbol für den Wanderer zwischen den Grenzwelten, Gärten der technologisch entwickelten Welt.

Wahrnehmung in diesem instabilen Raum ist nicht Betrachtung. Der Besucher wandert vielmehr in einem Geflecht aus Codes und Modellen, deren Verbindungen Zeichen herstellen, die manifest an der „Oberfläche“ erkennbar werden. Der Garten ist eine Oberfläche, derjenigen eines Monitors ähnlich.

Generico Vespucci, a former gardener, has become a cosmonaut following his retraining and now lives aboard the Russian space station MIRAK. Communication with the ground station has been severed, and MIRAK—having drifted off course—floats adrift in outer space.

Vespucci has begun cultivating a new species of tree—the *Dolphinat*—in the depths of space. Within this garden, a goldfish named „migbot“ floats inside a glass container, suffering from electronic isolation. Meanwhile, the Argentine poet Alfonsina Storni has penned a poem for the end of time and has submerged herself in the waters of the South Seas.

Drawing upon these elements, the performance and media artists of AlienNation Co. (Houston) will construct an interactive installation within the garden (at Loewensternweg 5)—a work that explores the nature of parallel spaces and narratives.

The „skeleton“ of the installation (visible only in the evenings) consists of a structural web of movements—movements that are both constantly shifting and open to modification via interfaces. These interfaces layer together real and virtual, visible and invisible spaces, creating fluid transitions between them. The fish serves as a symbol of the wanderer traversing these liminal realms—the gardens of a technologically advanced world.

Perception within this unstable space is not merely a passive act of observation. Rather, the visitor wanders through a lattice of codes and models—a network whose interconnections generate signs that become tangibly manifest upon the „surface.“ The garden itself acts as a surface—one akin to the screen of a computer monitor.
