Gabriela Villegas

Gabriela Villegas is a Mexican-American performance artist, mask maker, designer and educator/director (with her cultural formation „Jaguar Moon“) who was among the early artistic collaborators wit AlienNation Co. and joined Johannes Birringer’s multimedia performance Invisible Cities in 1989, staged over two weeks at the legendary old Lawndale Art Center on the East Side of Houston.

She became an affiliate of the company and returned onto the stage to perform in the experimental opera Orpheus and Eurydike which Birringer directed in Chicago in 1992.

In the 1990s Gabriela began to focus on her own artistic and cultural projects and formed the Jaguar moon arts organization. 

She lives and works between Houston and Puerto Vallarta.
